Distribution of pecan phylloxera (Hemiptera: Phylloxeridae) galls within the canopy of pecan (Fagales: Juglandaceae)
Journal of Entomological Science 42 (4), 596-602
Abstract: The distribution of galls formed by the pecan phylloxera, Phylloxera devastatrix, was studied in a pecan orchard in Louisiana, U.S.A. Upon emergence, P. devastatrix move to the opening buds where they settle and begin to feed. The results suggest that P. devastatrix crawl from the overwintering sites to the nearest place with a high foliage density.
